Miss Gail owns and operates the school and her students have attended Dance on the Beach, Dance Caravan, Dance Olympus, Joe Tremaine Conventions, Dance Theatre USA and S.Y.T.Y.C.D. Conventions and Seminars. Recently they attended classes with ‘Victor Smalley of Dance Moms Miami’. Studying and excelling in all facets of dance from the age of ten, has created a very sensitive teacher in the talent Miss Gail possess. The teacher training experience under the auspices of Ann Curtis of Hull Yorkshire, England offered Gail the chance to expand her already well established dancing career. The over fifty years of dance teaching experience is affectionately conveyed as Miss Gail instructs her students. Her teaching experiences consists of 23 years at her former studio, Manomet School of Dance of Manomet, Massachusetts, 10 1/2 years of ‘freelance’ instructing in other dance studios in the Northeast and now here in Leesburg for the past 20 1/2 years. In addition to her teaching experience, Miss Gail has choreographed many successful local shows and Miss Massachusetts pageants in association with the Miss America Pageant. Judged for Pageants, Cheerleading and Dance Competitions. Has taught the Dance Team at Tavares & Mt. Dora High School and has been an instructor at the Lake Sumter State College ‘Kid’s College Program for Dance. In addition, she has assisted stage commercials with Glenn Campbell, Lennon Sisters and Andy Williams for the Branson Chamber of Commerce and Silver Dollar City Amusement Park in Branson, Missouri. Many of Miss Gail’s students have gone on and used their dance experience in acting, scholarship beauty pageants, modeling, employed with Disney Studios, competitions and opened their own studios.
Miss Kari is the Lyrical and Classical Ballet teacher at the studio. Her dance career started at the age of four studying tap, jazz and ballet and her teaching experience started at the age of fourteen in Key West, Florida, Virginia Beach, Virginia and then later home in Key West. After high school, Miss Kari went on to study as a Dance Major at Point Park College in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania and Broadway Dance Center in New York with Luigi, Joe Tremaine, and Frank Hatchett, and then performed in Broadway and Musical Theatre shows in Key West, New York and Los Angeles, California. Upon returning to Key West, Miss Kari continued to choreograph several Musicals in Key West, performed on Seascape Cruise Line and owned and operated for 14 years, Kari’s Dance Factory. When Miss Kari’s family moved to Lake County, she joined the studio and has been with us for the past 17 years. Miss Kari continues her education by attending Dance Olympus, Dance Caravan, Dance on the Beach, Dance Theatre USA, S.Y.T.Y.C.D. and ‘Victor Smalley of Dance Moms Miami” Dance Conventions and Seminars. Besides teaching for Miss Gail, Miss Kari has also been an instructor at the Lake Sumter State College, “Kids College Program” for Dance.
Miss Briana is the Jazz teacher for the advanced students at the studio as well as assisting in other dance classes. Her dance experience started at the age of 2 at a local dance studio until she joined ours 18 years ago, studying tap, jazz, hip hop, ballet, lyrical and pointe. She continued her dance training at the Florida Youth Ballet Theatre summer intensive classes for 3 years and attended the James Dance Center of Kissimmee where she was also a member of the Image- makers Competition Dance Team during her high school years and has won several awards in competitions. Miss Briana continues her education by attending Dance Olympus, Dance Caravan, Dance on the Beach Dance Conventions and Seminars, attended classes with ‘Victor Smalley of Dance Moms Miami’; Broadway Dance Center and Alvin Ailey in New York; Spotlight Dance Center with Myles Thoroughgood in Orlando and this summer with the Grand Rapids Ballet in Grand Rapids, MI. Besides teaching for Miss Gail, Miss Briana has taught at Lake Sumter State College “Kids College Program” for Dance and has choreographed for the National League of Junior Cotillions performances with the Florida Lakes Symphony Orchestra; “What the Dickens” Flash Mob video contest; and the “Wash Em” promo video for Florida Hospital. Recently Miss Briana performed at the Macy’s Holiday Parade at Universal Studios and LC Swing Band.
Miss Leighann is the Hip Hop teacher at the studio as well as assisting in other dance classes at the studio. Her dance career started at the age of five studying ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, lyrical and pointe here at the studio 20 ½ years ago. During High School, Leighann was an assistant with our teaching staff and attended Dance Olympus, Dance Caravan, Dance on the Beach, S.Y.T.Y.C.D. Dance Conventions and Seminars. After graduating High School, Miss Leighann attended the University of Florida. At U.F., she continued her dance career in all facets of dance in the college dance classes and also joined “Agbedidi Africa”, a dance troupe specializing in traditional West African dance. She performed with Agbedidi for five years in Gainesville, Ocala, Dade City and Miami. Miss Leighann graduated from the University of Florida in December of 2014 with a Bachelors of Art Degree in Theatre and a minor in Dance.
